| I'm not sure you really need a companion for gourds. I don't know, off the top of my head, any pests that attack gourds. So you wouldn't need a decoy plant and I believe gourds are pretty strong growers on their own. If you have a different experience, let me know, like with pests or something and then I can offer some suggestions for decoys. |

| I plant sunflowers amoung my gourds, the gourds climb up the sunflowers then onto the trellis. Cathy |

I was told by a few knowledgeable folks to plant radishes around squashes, gourds, and cukes in general. Where we live, we have trouble with Cuke Beetles and Squash Bugs -these have so far been repelling these buggers! As far as direct companion benefit of the plants - i don't know. Mine are thriving for the first time since moving to KY three years ago. I'll keep doing it! Toni |

| I can tell you one thing, don't plant with mornig glories! I interplanted my loufas with morning glories last year, and they just didn't do that well. The mornig glories were beautiful, but I only got 4 loufa gourds off of several vines. The vines themselves did well, but little "fruit." |
