cucumbers and strawberries?

My strawberry plants are sending out runners into the Armenian cucumbers. Is this any kind of problem? Are they compatible? I have a trellis for the cucumbers to climb. Will it be alright if the strawberries climb with it, or should I train the strawberries the other direction?
