what's your favorite companion for delphiniums?

| Hi all,
I have a circular bed (16' diameter) that I am planning to plant with delphiniums and "companions". I love delphiniums, and want them to be the star of this garden, but I know I need more. I will use a mixture of varieties, so won't have all the same color, height, etc.
Ideas I've had so far - russian sage, siberian iris for earlier color, moonbeam coreopsis (except I haven't had great luck with it so am a bit hesitant), baby's breath, grasses ...
I am leaning toward adding white, silver, and a few bits of yellow - but could be talked into other combinations.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks so much. |

| I have phlox (white, white with purple center and lavender), blue chips campanula, purple and a light peach balloon flowers, a "melon balls" daylily, blue oat grass and Karl Forester grass planted with my delphiniums. Love these colors together! |

| I only have a few delphiniums in royal blue and light blue; close to them are california poppy in apricot, orange cosmos, salvia purple rain, coleus in various shades, alyssum purple, ornamental grass "Morning Light" and one other reed grass, daylilies (many colors) and a few cannas, among those are low growing junipers.
