distance between cucumbers, sage, other aromatic herbs, etc.

Anyone know how far apart cucumbers and sage should be planted? Or if it helps to put something in between them, like bush beans? And why are they incompatible?

I'm also wondering about other "aromatic herbs"--although I read that oregano is actually a good companion--but I'm starting my research with sage, since that seems to be the one most sites list specifically. And what about summer savory? Is that ok? I'm thinking about putting some beans next to some cucumbers, and I want some summer savory next to the beans.

Sorry, can't answer your question. I just wanted to tell you that I love your gardenweb name! Ain't it the truth!

When I started this a couple years ago, I thought all I had to do was dig a few holes in the backyard, and plant some seeds. I was so naive. So, what's the significance of October 17?
