Companions Crocosmia Lucifer and Coneflower

I have a flower bed in front of my house which has the perennial yellow digitalis, crocosmia lucifer and purple coneflower. The digitalis is done blooming by early July when the crocosmia takes over. I planted the coneflower to act as a natural "stake" for the tall crocosmia, but I still have a lot of space at the front of the border and want more color/blooms. Any suggestions on something "shorter" that is a long summer bloomer I can intersperse amongst/in front of the coneflower?
