Total newbie giving this a shot

I am completely new to companion planting so I have just a few questions. I want to plant bunching onions with grand rapids lettuce together. Is this ok? If so, exactly how do i do that? Plant one then the other when the first sprouts or all at the same time. Unsure of what to do first lol
Thanks in advance
Kim

It grows especially well with onions, carrots, radishes, and strawberries. Can be planted with cucumbers.

I would imagine to start them off in a pot first at the same time. It doesn't really matter when or how. Just wait till the lettuce is about 3 inches or more.
