Rhododendron and hydrangea

I think rhododendron and hydrangea have similar soil and light requirements, both like some shade, both like acid soil, both are called woodland plants. How come they are never planted together? I have not find an example, not in book or public gardens.

Any idea?

RE: Rhododendron and hydrangea

I have mine planted together, and they do great together. I also love the look. I have both lace caps and the round head ones as I have lots of shaded areas. They both love acid soil.
