Need Help with Dynamite Crape Myrtle

I planted two Dynamite crape myrtles in my front yard. The yard has a formal layout and the trees are planted in a formal arrangement on each side of a straight walkway that leads to the front door. The foundation beds have a northeastern exposure and have massed Xanadu philodendrons and Pygmy palms. I need a little something to underplant the beds with that will tie in with the crapes yet not be garish. My house color is a muted gray-green with a forest green roof, and while I think they will look great set against the house, they are going to make a rather bold statement when they mature. I'm at a loss and would really appreciate any ideas or advice that any of you might have.
