What to plant with Butterfly Bushes?

I have two flower beds in front of house on each side of my door. One bed has two White blooming hostas with a bench between and my picture window, this side is shady with a fall colored Maple in front of the area. The other side is sunny and the bed is 13 foot long by 4 foot wide and then it curves around to north side of house to my Hosta Garden. Was thinking about planting two White Butterfly bushes on each end, that leaves me with a 4 foot area under a window so the plants here can't be more than 3 feet high, right now there is two euonymus bushes (Moonshadow and Emerald and Gold)that I wasn't sure if they would look good with the Butterfly Bushes as I thought about leaving them and putting annuals in front of them. Is there any shurbs that would look better between the Butterfly Bushes? I am in zone 5 and my house is golden yellow so no pink plants.

Russian Sage would be pretty. It might get slightly taller than three feet but you can cut it back, and also, it's very "wispy" in that it will not form a solid barrier.

It is not one of the edible sages, but it has gorgeous blue flowers.

Lavender would also work, and smell lovely under your windows.

I planted lantana with mine, and the butterfly bushes have absolutely taken over - surprising, I would have guessed the opposite! Mine are purple, so I don't know if that makes a difference - have never had white ones. Good luck! They smell wonderful, too!
