Sutherland Gold Sabucus

Planning on planting a Gold Sambucus in the center of a long narrow shady bed. Looking for some good plants to go on either side...was thinking red herbaceous peonies. Any ideas?

    That looks like a gorgeous plant. I'm going to check it out for my area.

    Does your bed have enuf sun for peonies?

    Hosta is an possiblity.

    If there was more sun, Rosa 'Knockout' rose would look great with the Sambucus.

    I have seen it planted with smokebush, which was gorgeous! Not sure if you have enough sun for it, though.
