| Anyone have any suggestion for companions for the invasive beauty of acanthus? On a triple-terraced north-west front lot with mid-morning to mid-afternoon sun ? There is a huge conifer just west at the street with canopy growth that creates most of the mid-day filtered shade. The garden area is about 20'x10' in front of a sort of modernist california duplex with a vaguely asian landscape in other spots, or what's left of it after prolonged drought while the place was empty & up for sale...I'm thinking some small trees or large shrubs and ground cover, but don't have any experience with acanthus. Just know that once you plant it, it's sort of there forever, so I figured to go with and add the right neighbors... |
