There are a whole lot of very fine pix here. Thank you folks. If we ever get warm enough, I hope to post as well. Likely June at this rate.

Great mugos Dax, though I have seen 'Kaktus' labelled as uncinata.

You must be stir crazy TJ, but I guess April is still late winter in places.

    Another of mine

The Pinus mugo 'Carl Fricard' looks great! Glad to see things are waking up there, Dax.

Severnside, that's a nice Pinus flexilis 'Piute' specimen.

Thanks guys. Tom I hope spring makes it your way asap. I've been watching bud break for a couple weeks here. A coldest winter on record for all of us since 92' I suppose.

'Kaktus' looks mugo, at least to me. 'Maja' I've seen as: pseudopumilio, uncinata, and mugo. I don't know which it is.

You guys have some really clear shots. I was just walking up to the mailbox and snapped a few quick ones.

Hello JOANDRE, I search for 1 picea abies "Araucana" from many years, please have you a source for me ?
    I'm in Belgium.

    Clement,
Picea abies Araucaroides is a very old hungarian cultivar.

    Araucaroides
(Beissn. 1905) Mesterházy 2010 in Conifer Treasury
1905 Saaghy in Kamoni Arboretum, Szombathely HUN
A very strong growing, rugh, rustic tree with few branchlets and few buds. Looks like a framework, or an Araucaria.
Dariusz Burdan in Poland has elder exemplars of this one.

    Hello Clement,

as Zsolt mentioned right, my suorce of this plant was Burdan Nursery in Poland.

I saw a medium plant there in the nursery. It was a very characteristic plant and i wanted one also;-)

    Regards

    Great pictures Nate & Garen59

The Picea pungens 'Mamut Torony' - WOW! - I Googled some images and Zsolt's 'Organic Conifering 4' thread shows the beast itself. Your macro shot is quite the teaser.

Alongside the 'Mamut Torony' pictures in Google Images was one of Picea pungens 'Sanctuary' a similarly very impressive specimen. What's the story behind that one Nate? Was it previously named? Did you successfully propogate some scions?

Final question - did you have success with the P.mugo 'Schweizer Tourist'? I still keep an eye out for one here, so far in vain.

Thanks Maple! Great pics yourself there. I've recently seen a large Larix broom on top of a tree which I'll try and get a picture of.

Sluice, good to see your 'Schweizer Tourist' it's a really attractive plant that I hope I will get one day.

The P.p 'Mamut Torony' & 'Sanctuary' would make an impressive pairing in a big enough setting. Great that you have both of them.

Cedrus libani 'Green Prince' is such cool one. Sadly I lost mine this year to the cold winter

For fun here's a 40 year old 'Green Prince' growing at Buchholz and Buchholz. With time even slow growers can get big =)

That's some exotic manipulation Conifer50. Great pic.

Wow Garen, that must be the biggest GP I've seen pictured. It certainly seems to speed up as it gets older, mine is still in the very slow period for now. Thanks for posting that. Sorry you lost yours, the winter toll across the US collectors is not far short of catastrophic.
