Globe Blue Spruce?

I have a spot where I'd like to have something with silvery foliage, but I'm not caring for the perennial choices I'm finding. So, I'm thinking about a Globe Blue Spruce.

They were small, though. Just a 2g container, so maybe 10" round.

2 questions: Is my site appropriate?

My house faces east. So, it'll start getting sun and dawn. The maple (which I hate, but hubby doesn't want to remove it) will start to shade the GBS by about 10 am. Then it will get sun from probably 1-3pm. So, I'm questioning whether it will even get enough sun.

2nd question: how much growth does it put on from one year to the next? .... as in, how long will it be before it's the 5-6 feet?

BTW, here's the location.....
If you can see the spot the the right of the shasta daisy, that's where I'm talking about.

Hi Melissa,

That's a nice planting bed. Things over here on the Gallery page can be slow at times. I would recommend re-posting your question on the Discussion side of the conifer forum.
