Newly planted Green Giant Arborvitae starting to turn brown

I live in northwest Ohio with clayey soils. On April 12th of this year I bought 10 Green Giants (about 4' tall in containers) from a nursery. Brought them home and planted them. Mixed about 30%-50% peat with native soil and added 2 gallons of water with Fertilome Root Stimulator (3.5 tablespoons per gallon). A few days later I watered each plant for about 15-20 minutes with a slow running hose. Around this time after the planting we also had a few inches of snow. After the snow, I went out and brushed off the snow as best I could. Now it seems like there is some brownness/bronzing developing. When I inspect the "leaves" it appears that the bronzing is only on the top but not on the bottom. It has been raining off and on and I have been watering about once or twice a week because it isn't to ward (50's and 60's). Should I be concerned? I can email pics if that helps. Just need email address. Any help would be appreciated
