Curious as to where you picked that up?

I saw a picture on a UK gardening forum posted by someone in the trade I think. They closed their account before I finally got activated to ask them, bad timing. A Google search showed one trade company in the UK sold them and granted me a single private sale. All good.

Nice, I happen to like mugo pines more than any other (grafted pine).

Yes, right!:) Very slow growing, very nice, make informal dense form, but on spring should be protected from strong sunlight. I have one cognate - 'Blue Star' with similar shape and color, bet without white spots.

Sam, the Pinus mugo 'Patches' was found by Jim Boyko.
It's formerly and temporary name was 'Boyko's Variegated'.
However, it was Bob Fincham who gave it the cultivar name 'Patches'...

Pinus mugo 'Kouty' was found by the Holata Nursery in Cesko in 2000.
It's not availlable in the U.S. (yet).

I think it's a common mistake when people read it from labels the U handwritten looks like a V. A nursery here stupidly lists Pinus nigra 'Uelzen' and 'Velzen' as seperate plants.

There are a good number of Pinus mugo cultivars that turn a brilliant gold color in the winter. If you have any, please share them here!

Pinus mugo 'Carstens' has a yellow-gold color that intensifies toward the needle tips.

'Amber Gold' is a similar cultivar that has a deeper golden color which is almost orange. In my opinion, it is more outstanding than that of 'Carstens', although both are excellent winter-gold pines.
