what is the living requirement of this tree. Can it stand for very hot weather?

Well, I'm in South Central PA about 10 miles north of Maryland. It does get hot here in the summer. This summer we had like 4 days of almost 100 degrees in a row.

The placement of the tree tho is right next to my swale, so it gets plenty of water when it rains.

That tree looks great! Seems like a perfect place to site it, too.

Speculating here, but Taxodium distichum would probably be worth trying in Malaysia.

i see, i have seen many people planting it as a hill land resort decoration tree in Taiwan. But so far i did not seen a unit here in Malaysia yet. But once i am flying over to Taiwan, I will get some seeding there. But i understand in Maryland the weather is so much cooling as compare to Malaysia indeed. However I have successfully grow up some cypress macrocarpa from seeding. but only limited of them can only survive.

i have a couple BC... they have no issue in mineral sand.. in a MI month of 100 plus temps.. and complete drought last year ...

i am surprised you were told it wouldnt grow in SW Pa .. but what do i know..

Cool I didn't know lol Was only going by the person that gave me the trees info.

I'd love to take clippings from it and plant 2-3 more on the same swale line, but I also heard it's very difficult to get clippings to grow from a BC, so not too sure.
