Recently The Gee family, Henk and I visited Clement and we found out that the Abies squamata 'Flaky' isn't differend from it's species.
It's common name is flaky fir which was going to live it's own life with 'Flaky' as a cultivar name...

I guessed that that was the case, but I figured I would give Buchholz the credit..

According to Edwin, Abies squamata "Flaky" are not a cultivar, but just the true species.The name flaky are added to make the difference with some plants grafted some years ago under this name but they are not right.
