Conifers of Poland

mesterhazypinetum

Dear Friends,

This is the first open editing attempt to edit a national conifer book. Some years ago I made the first steps with the Conifer Treasury of Poland 1.0 (see: conifertreasury.org/World Conifering). That time I had no partners, but today I have many friends in Poland, who also think, that the marvellous polish conifers are to be published anyway.

We make a double info channel on Gardenweb, and the same time in Poland on a local "Gardenweb" site to collect photos, infos, breeders and conifer cultivars.

If anyone owns polish originated conifers, please join to the company. I estimate a number of cca. 700 conifer cultivars, which are yet partly documented.

Good luck!

Zsolt, many thanks for showing us these pics of findings from our Polish friends.

It's to bad that you don't have pics of the'Picea pungens 'Bialobok' and 'Byczkowski' taken in spring time...

once again, you guys tease me with Picea pungens 'Olo.' That one and Picea abies 'Quasimodo' are the two conifers I would most like to have in my collection right now.

Unfortunately I may never find them because so few people in America like the weird, clumpy little cultivars. Regardless, thanks for showing your tree, Rispetto.

My Larix decidua 'Jan' is quite small, but I'm wondering why it is allocated to decidua. I would say - typical L. kaempferi.

I suspect that there may be the same story as with Larix decidua/kaempferi 'Little Bogle' (a.k.a. 'Cruwys Morchard').

    Coniferjoy,Pinus mugo 'Rositech' isn't a Polish cultivar.

    Hello.

Can anyone tell me, please, is it possible to buy a Cedrus deodara in Poland?

    Where to search?

    Would be very obliged.

    (I don't speak Polish).
