Tsuga canadensis Photo Gallery 2012

I'm sure tj has a good number of Tsuga canadensis cultivars to share.

I saw this little guy shining a bright gold color from the summer sun last week. The best part about this plant I've found is that it doesn't burn in full sun.

    You got it, severn!
I didn't notice that I hadn't written the name! Do you have any to share?

I have a few tsugas, but I don't think I took many new pix of them this year and right now most are covered in Black Walnut debris such as leaflets and leaflet stems and who knows what. I'll have to see what I can shake clean. In the mean time, my favorite tsuga pic from earlier this year...

    Tsuga canadensis 'Bennett' and friends.

Here is my little one -
    Tsuga canadensis 'Jedelloch' -
    {{gwi:616774}}

And here are more photo from Salaspils Botanical garden.I had visited last weekend. I made an awful lot of photos. There is a large area with neatly planted and even greater - the wild, not intended for conscientious visitors:)) Wandered into very wild area where there was not even a trail. There was also no plant labels .... I'm not so professional tree recognizer. But this seems to me to be Tsuga canadensis.

Ireena, your "little one" isn't 'Jedelloch', but Jeddeloh'.
It's the same one as the two globose specimens at your last two pics.
The tree form is the species Tsuga candensis indeed...
A typical characteristic for the species are it's drooping side branches...

The one in front of your last pic could be 'Popeleski' and the one more to the right 'Cole' aka 'Cole's Prostrate'.

Thanks for the correction, Edwin. This name (Jeddeloh) is used, unfortunately, a large number of variables. I am also glad that I was able to guess Tsuga canadensis species. I still have a lot to learn:)

    Pretty slow thread.

Here's a better pic of the 'Bennett' before the other plants sprouted.

Awesome stuff, tj! Thanks for posting all of your nice plants.
I see many plants that I haven't seen before.

I am curious if that 'Molalla' is a semi-weeping dwarf..?
Also, do you have 'Essex' or 'Hornbeck'?

    Thanks, Sam.

'Molalla' is a true mini that came from Stanley who describes it as a "flat bun". It and 'Coffin' are favorite minis of mine.

Sorry, but I have neither 'Essex' nor 'Hornbeck'.

Thanks for the pics Tj, certainly explains your handle. It's great to see all the different forms like that, the 'Molalla' is a beaut and I also like the 'Jervis' look.

Dr. Hornbeck will see you now Sam, please go on through ;0)

Ah, 'Dr. Hornbeck' certainly seems like a nice "doctor." I might have to add that one to my wishlist.

'Essex' looks great Sam, fine addition. It's a very dense looking plant.
