Broom Universe 32 - The Pinus cembra Saga 15
Some words about the dividing of the conifer forums.
Many years ago Gardenweb opened a place for gardening people, who became answers for usual questions (My thuja is browns since 5 years, and not grows. What can I do?) :)
After a while conifer friends found this place and the site became a world wide forum for the best coniferists. A very big knowledge is meeting here, as never expected. These people must publish sometimes hundreds of photos, because they have that, others not. They share their knowledge with others.
This year I found some fine men in Austria and Cesko, who have enormous quantity of conifers. As I'm working with the documentation of conifers, I also must publish more than 2 photos by time. As I have over 20000, I cant check them by 2 pieces a day. Hopingly the readers of the forum can learn of it.
Mr. Miroslav Malik in Cesko has over 5000 conifers - probably the greatest collection of Earth, Franz Etzelstorfer in Austria over 3500. Also met 5 friends having a collection far over 2000 conifers. This 2 men owns half of the 16000 ever described conifer cultivars. This is not a cause of dividing, but the time of making conifer history. We will make this history in the Gallery.
What will happen?
The main page is opened for the daddies with questions, like 'Why is my thuja brown since 5 years', and the conifer university moves to the gallery area.
Finally back to the cembras, the most dazzling question of the european conifering. These galleries are coming from digging in the deep for breeders, who couldnt find light earlier. The discovery of till now unknown breeders changed the conifering.
