Difficult to tell the temperature you have there, is it dry cold or still mild?

It's not only columnar, but fastigiate as well. Limbs over most of the crown's length sweep upwards, fight off gravity for quite a few years. Chances are that careful searching will disclose other nearby trees with one or both of those characters.

This is the first fastigiate ponderosa in the literature. I feel myself in the 19th century as the first fastigiate conifers were selected in France or the UK for all possible specieses.
I was informed of Gary Gee last year about a Columnar ponderosa. I haven't seen any photos of that.
Great find for pondys, thanks! Please, try to graft so many as you can. I suggest it as a national tree of Colorado.

Thought I'd put these on the gallery side. The temps this weekend were 65-65F day (18-19C) and 32-36F (0-2C) night. I get to this spot from time to time, and will check around to see what else is up there!

Yes Nate, it was a missing moment for me weather 2 Dots or Twodot. Its a nice exemplar, but yours is much better as beeing more fastigiate and by this way gives a real column.
