Looks like you bought a nice sized specimen. As to be expected, great fall color. Pseudolarix colors up much earlier than my other deciduous conifers, and normally drops its leaves just as the true larches are starting to show color.
I had one given me do great on a clay-like soil. I figured it would like the spot, with creeping buttercups indicating moisture and fertility. Unfortunately, it's roots were badly bound at planting so I took it down after growing it for some years as a temporary feature.
