Cupressus macrocarpa dying! Need Help!

Hi all!

I've purchased a Monterey Cypress a month ago and things haven't been going well. I'm in Singapore (a tropical country): Weather here is hot and humid. I keep the plant indoors in a cool area.

I've been watering the plant once every 2 days and making sure it gets some sun.

Problem began last week when i started noticing large sections of the plant and turning brown. After checking online, it seemed to be a bad case of spider mites (I could see the little buggers moving around). I gave the plant a good hard soak and have been watching it closely. It seems that the mites has gone away but unfortunately, the condition of the plant seems to be worsening.

Most of the leaves are dry not (they come off when you brush them) even though the soil is wet. Not sure what to do at this point. Would appreciate the help!
