1st class mail is all that is necessary. Don't have the scions sent wet. If rain or snow, have the person dry off the scions for several hours on a towel. I like to put scions under my microwave oven sitting on my stove and turn on the microwave's fan to suck any moisture from the scions.

Then into a ziplock baggie and shipped. Be sure the baggie has some air in it... never remove all the air. Bubble envelope.

I like to ship on Mondays and Tuesdays but sitting in a post office over the weekend should be fine. It's when spring arrives and temps are raising that you really don't want to risk an over the weekend delay.

Thanks. I'm always a bit mystified as to how the mail handling equipment doesn't crush the contents of a bubble envelope, but people ship fragile things in them all the time. I just got a used video card in the mail and they didn't even use bubble wrap, just a plain manila envelope and 2 squares of cardboard. No bent capacitors or anything.
