wouldnt it be a reversion to Picea Glauca?????

kinda hard with the pic to see the new thing for the blob behind it ... lol ...

i have one .... that flushes yellow in spring ... crestwood kenny ...

and i have seen thistype on a plant .... a few miles down the road ...

i dont know how rare it is ... that this happens.. but this one is yours.. congrats ...

ps: I THINK .... SOME glauca can root ... might want to try a few that way .... graft otherwise ....

Ken, The plant you see is the sport, If you look low you'll see the original P.g.conica down underneath. I don't call it a reversion as the plant differs from p.glauca with a bluish color and a growth rate of 3-4"/yr. I too have seen many reversions but theyre pushing typical growth i.e. stronger full size(green) shoots. I don't think its a good find as it looks similar to some Blue Tear Drops i'm growing at my nursery. Just interesting. I'll try rooting some now and if that doesn't work i'll graft some next year.

you gotta wonder how a homeowner.. misses such.. for what ... 15 years... lol ... i mean really ... i cant argue with missing it for the first few years.... golf ball to softball sized ... maybe even not noticing it to beachball size ...

but crikey man... by the time its 15 times larger than what was planted.. you would think someone would notice... lol ... of course ... i see a foundation shrub blocking the second story window.. so what am i thinking.. obviously.. that was blocking their view... lol ... [i am not letting facts interrupt this diatribe.. lol]

Given that reversions are so commonly seen on this cultivar around here, I've never thought to look at them as potential sports. This one you've found is still kind of attractive, whereas a normal reversion quickly puts up strong shoots.
