It came to me as a seedling (4-0) and I noticed after the first two and three years that it was sending fastigiate shoots and then it came together as a ball with a 4-5" leader. It's gotta be about 9 years old. I'd say the side shoots grow some at 3" and others at 2". It's only been in the ground going on five years so maybe next year I'll see a better indication of what it wants to do.
