Thanks Resin, do you think by the colour of the broom it might be a green cultivar if propagated? They seem less common than the many glauca ones.

Could stay green, but could just as well develop a glaucous colour/sheen once propagated, certainly looks like it's worth doing.

Thanks Stephen and Edwin, here's another view of the broom. Unfortunately the two factors 'High Up' and 'Near main road' apply. My friend certainly won't be up to the climbing skill level of the E.Euro broom collectors but I'll discuss it with him. When is the best time to collect scions?

Severn, actually yesterday was the best time to collect the scions, but one of the days next week will be also ok ;0)
You can do this in the whole February month...
