I am trying to grow two varieties from seed. They are stratifying in the fridge now.
One is for pine nuts... OK in our zone, and the other is for a nice Christmas tree (which we will shape). Pacific White Fir.

My fingers are crossed! Once they finish that stratification process, I'll try some in soil under the existing pine grove, some in root riot cubes, and some in pots in potting soil. Hopefully something will work.

I did purchase a little seedling of a Douglas Fir on Ebay, and I planted it a month ago. It's very happy showing all kinds of new growth!

I'm going to soak for 48 hours. After 24, four pine nuts are viable, and only 2 Pacific White pine. They are in a shot glass. Should be enough! But, I want results!
