I'm curious what other conifer collector's consider the top ten most 'coveted' conifers. Now this could mean either ten that they are really looking for, or ten that they chased hard to find.

Here's mine:

Abies koreana 'Gait'
Abies koreana 'Icebreaker'
Cedrus atlantica 'Mt. St. Catharine'
Cedrus atlantica 'Uwe'
Picea abies 'Gold Drift'
Picea glauca 'Goldilocks'
Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns'
Picea omorika 'Peve Tijn'
Pinus cont. 'Chief Joseph'
Pinus parviflora 'Goldilocks'

List yours!

anything that grows 1" or less a year. preferably omorika: pungens: aristata: engelmannii spruce: any fir: any pinus koraiensis: any mugo: hell I'll take one of them all!

Larger trees:
I'll have what I've wanted after this winter for all of my six acres, practically.

RE: collectors most wanted

Hi Will-

here are 10 that I had to get and are still favorites(a couple are fairly new additions). Not necessarily based on difficulty of obtaining them.

Pinus heldreichii 'Smidt'
Sciadopitys verticillata 'Sternschnuppe'
Pinus parviflora 'Tani mano uki'
Metasequoia glytostroboides 'Gold Rush'
Picea pungens 'St Marys'
Abies concolor 'Pigglemee'
Pinus strobus 'Sea Urchin'
Larix kaempferi 'Havebeck'
Pinus thunbergii 'Ogi Matsu'
Abies lasiocarpa 'Duflon'

Next I will list 10 conifers that I do not have(yet) and feel compelled to get.

Picea abies 'Brno'
Abies concolor 'Igel'
Abies koreana 'Kohouts Hexe'
Picea asperata 'Mongolei'
Pinus cembra 'Frieda'
Picea engelmanii 'Cenega'
Picea ponderosa 'Poopsie'
Picea pungens 'Porcupine'
Abies grandis 'Vandedems Dwarf'
Pinus Contorta 'Chief Joseph'- had one that I kept in its 1 gallon pot over winter and it died. I'll get another and not make the same mistake(if that was the cause of its demise) or a 'Gold Striker' if one is available.
