Today I harvested a good sized bag of scionwood from Pseudotsuga menziesii 'DuPont Dynamite.' While there I talked with the guy who lives in the house near the tree where this broom lives. We talked about the broom. He asked how these things develop. I said there are any number of causes -- viral, radiation, lightning strikes, etc. He confirmed to me that the large Douglas Fir that carries this broom was indeed struck by lightning about 20 years ago.

That's the broom, in case you don't remember. It's really super tight and somewhat glaucous. Anyway, I have lots of wood, and I only plan on grafting a few of them. If you want scions, please PM me.
