Dax, you might want to rethink your pic tagged as Picea orientalis 'Losley' :0)

RE: Rich's Foxwillow Pines Feb 2010 2 (43 Photos)

I did..... Rich said it was an orientalis and I thought it was a Picea abies. So, I went with the flow at the moment.
Losely - is a nursery, that much I can add.

Yes, according to Bluespruce, certainly not a Picea orientalis, but pungens.

The weeping Serbian spruce is not weeping.

Thanks guys, that clears that up nicely.

bboy- It's a good-looking serbian, I know many seedlings will show even better qualities.

Hi Dax and Stephen,

The correct name for the true Picea orientalis cultivar is 'Losely' and not 'Losley'
It seems that the l and the e are mentioned in the wrong sequence.

RE: Rich's Foxwillow Pines Feb 2010 2 (43 Photos)

If I find out anymore information on 'Losely' (I spelled it right Edwin) I'll post. I already got an email tonite but unfortunately it led to no conclusions. All I can do is wait.

Of course though, 'Losely' being used twice for a name within the same Genus ----- probably in itself made a contributing factor for any confusion that exists both currently with just the names and then, the possibility of only anyone can guess. i.e., a simple error while slapping a tag on a plant, or anything else, for that matter.

Edwin, I checked my list just in case, and still have it down as P. or 'Losley', that's not to say I got it down correct..where did you get the spelling 'Losely from ??

 o
RE: Rich's Foxwillow Pines Feb 2010 2 (43 Photos)

Hi Stephen,

Please typ the name Picea orientalis 'Losely' at Google and you will see that you are the only one who spelled it in another way.
I hope I helped you with this.

Here is a link that might be useful: Picea orientalis 'Losely'

RE: Pice abies Losely.

I forgot to return to this thread. The plant I show is a Picea abies. My plant photo is Picea abies 'Losely'. Rich Eyre of Rich's Foxwillow Pines has a rare specimen probably in no other garden, and I say this because Talon has never heard of any Picea abies 'Losely'.

Many thanks for reading this folks.

So Google Picks up this information:

Picea abies 'Losely' - NOT Picea orientalis 'Losely'
'Losely' Picea abies and not Picea orientalis!

Picea abies 'Losely' - NOT Picea orientalis 'Losely'
'Losely' Picea abies and NOT PIcea orientailis "Losely'

Rich thinks hybrid... only time will tell when the fruiting bodies occur.

Best Regards,
