By cutting your Ginkgos back so hard, I assume you're not growing them for their natural ornamental value, but just as stock plants.

That looks horrible. Why not space those plants out? What a mess. Talk about a crowded garden.

I agree! In a nursery, space is often lacking,and many stock-plants are needed for production of a wide range of plants.Hence the crowding.

I wouldn't mind seeing some nice pics of Ginkgo cv's in full leaf (hint hint...) T.

As I mentioned in the beginning, I prune these Ginkgo's every year and the result is that I will get very good and healty scionswood for propagation.
Indeed, it looks very strange when these all are pruned, it looks a bit "Bold" for a while now but when the new growth start it's a fiesta to see how they all are growing well.
