Thanks Ken. Your tree looks fantastic! IMO it was very attractive even when it was young in 05 :-) I'm going to grow mine out for a year or two before I plant it in the ground. It is a one year old graft and I have lost a few of those recently by planting them too soon.

Ken, I also add my thanks for posting these 'over here, not over there' pics! What a difference in the tree, especially from 07 to 09, and when the new growth filled out after the winter damage. Pictures can show so much more. Thanks again.

This has been a tough winter on the variegated pines around here. Many look like your pictures of brown needles. It is nice to see how your trees recovered. Timely post and thanks for the hope.

Amazing how much that plant stepped up its game from 2007 to 2009.

Pines show a very juicy green cambium. Just scratch and you'll know now instead of hoping. Pines are ones that are really easy to determine which direction they are going.

Versus other genus, like Fagus, which have a more thin faint green this time of year which may look like they croaked.
