Bind the 'Gold Cone' up till growth resets itself. It will.

Leave the support on the P resinosa 'Aurea' main leader through the summer. It won't support new growth extension. By fall the leader and new growth will have taken a set. I would then remove it and see.

I have had three 12" wet snows in the month of March. I have similar damage but it is correctable.
