I was asking this question in the forum today, which is, can you tell the growth rate of this Chamaecyparis obtusa by looking at the foliage?

I just noticed this post....That 'Golden Piller' is very nice looking!

Dave, are you growing your firs in containers/and have you had success with any in-ground?

I don't know Dax. I practically had the small container ones given to me as they were carry overs from last year.

Any suggestions concerning the Abies koreana 'Cis'?

Container grow it with 60-80% perlite added to Miracle Grow Potting Mix or peat moss... if peat moss add slow release fert. as a top dressing that stops fertilizing during the beginning of August. As much sun as you want to give to it is fine. Keep it moist but don't drown it. Moist is better than dry for containerized conifers.
