If this is a rookie question I appoligize. I was out looking at my bakeri blue spruce today and saw a purple growth. My first thought is that these are cones. This tree is only 6' tall and is in its second spring after I purchased it last march. This tree was definitely under major stress in last summers super heat. Is this normal. I thought it took 15 years for cones on pungens.
