Why not find another Pinus nigra broom at school?

While waiting for my friend, Doug Wilson, to give me a ride back to the nursery, I decided to double-check the trees near my horticulture class for brooms.

Lo, and behold, I spotted yet another Pinus nigra broom except this one is higher in a different tree about 30 yards from the first broom. This one may have cones on it...!

Great find, Sam!
I guess you're the only one in the whole U.S. who found a broom of this species.
You even found two of them close together!

Maybe there's also a third one... ;0)

i give him a big shout out.. for actually being aware of his surroundings ... rather than being one of those young peeps walking around.. staring at there thumbs.. 'liking' BS from alleged friends ..... on there little machines ...

you will go far.. being able to focus more than 2.5 feet from the tip of your nose ...

Whats that on the top side of the dark mass?could that be
a bunch of miniature cones?I hope so.I'm pretty sure if you were marooned on a desert Isle you'd find a broom on the only palm tree growing there.Doug

I think you must state a rendez-vous with friends around old conifers, and still waiting it comes what every day. Could we meet next Thursday at an old Douglas or anywhere? I will be a little late and you can discover the fields... What says Brent? Oh the guy needs 200 understocks again?

Haha Thanks, everyone.

Zsolt, I looked for about 15 minutes today and found nothing. Usually it takes 30 minutes or more to be successful. ;-)

Conifer collecting/broom-hunting is a hobby and a passion that has resulted in a career--very enjoyable and very addicting!

Sam,
come to Europe in October for cembras with Franz and Malik. They also need a "hard-looking" guy, who finds what every 30 minutes... You will be transported by lectica, as the roman ceasars, just sometimes you have to show the next broom... :) Wish you great adventures.
