in zone 4 eh?If its off the beaten path I might watch it for a season.Saw some low rate success on grafting sitka outside the dormant window and it doesn't look to be a large amont of scion on your find.Good Luck!Doug

I have had similar thoughts about this picea abies branch. I took some material from it and i will graft a few plants to grow in half shadow and watch their progress in case it is a variegated mutation.
If original branch dies it might also be because of full light and then youôll never know..

Rob, keep an eye on it.
It would be very interesting to see it's spring colour when the new growth appaers...

Did you also find some new brooms?

Edwin, I hope to get back in that area to see if it pushes yellow. They say spring is here but most conifers are thinking its late. They are forcasting more snow this week,we know it will not stick. I did find more brooms I will show a few later! Thanks!
