Yellowing Emerald Green Arborvitaes in spring

Hi. I am in eastern PA. I planted 10, 6 foot tall Emerald Green Arborvitaes late last summer. I watered them well through the fall into early November. In March of this year I gave each of them 3 cups of Holly Tone, and I have been keeping them well watered with a soaker hose each day. They have some new growth on them, but I am noticing that the tips are turning yellowish-brown and in some cases entire clusters are yellowing. We have clay soil, but I dug deep and mixed good soil when I planted. I could use some advice, as I don't want to lose them. Pictures attached and this is a link to a few more. I couldn't figure out how to add more than 1 image. https://plus.google.com/photos/105339955525876593148/albums/5867823256701738913?authkey=CNrmhZTb5qqZvQE
