Is it a good way to extract the seeds without breaking the cone. I got the seeds from one, but I had to remove scale by scale to get them.... Also, the cones seem to be very small compared to other I've seen before.

Soak the cones in cold water, leave overnight, and then dry out on a sunny windowsill.

If the cones are not even slightly open to start with, heat them with a hot air fan heater first, before their cold bath.
