Dax, beautiful variegation on the 'Lucek'. I look forward to seeing that puppy grow!

Thanks for sharing--you have such cool trees in your posts. I always enjoy reading your entries.

Daxxy boy, you've sure got a lot of nice 'trade bait'! Surely I have a plant or two(or a dozen scion wood or two) to trade down the road. Keep the photos coming, they're wonderful and lust-worthy.

I'll be stopping by to visit your nursery in a few years...don't deny it!

That Larix decidua 'Lucek' will be a nice speciman by then.

    Love these selections!
    The seedlings are really cool.
Will they all be broom-like dwarves?

I'm not sure on this batch Josh. If they were pollinated by other dwarfs then I would assume they would be very close to 100% dwarfs. If pollinated by other pungens trees then about 50/50. These seeds came from Jerry Morris...

The variegated colour onto the Larix decidua 'Lucek' is only like this when it's in a greenhouse, when it's growing outside then it's needle colour is only a whitish yellow which is very special for a Larix!
This needle colour is not year round, it's only for a while and then it will turn to green for the rest of the year...

It is indeed special. I see on Google some plants in 3's or 5's, yet here is a link to a large tree Google doesn't show.

I hadn't seen just how bright white it is! Very exciting.

How is that 'Lucek' looking now, Dax?
I've been dying to get one.

How have your grafts handles the heat? Brutal goodbyes to quite a few down here with temps 100-105 for over a week.

These are some great looking grafts and seedlings. That Lucek is really interesting. Quite a number of the other ones look really nice. Not sure how I missed this post before. Man you have a full time job just taking care of your nursery.

The new growth of the Larix decidua 'Lucek' is a butter yellow in Spring, later this colour will rever back to green.

Dax's pics doesn't show us it's true colours, this is because the new growth arose inside a plastic foly greenhouse which is much more differend then outside...

Sam, it's alive and fine but green now, just as Edwin said.

baxz, I brought 120 good grafts from my greenhouse to my hoophouse (90%+ takes) and now I count 45 remaining with another 4-5 dead ones just found. And I water..... It cost me about 1200 dollars to graft each year so that equals, today, 26 dollars per graft.

Cher... it's fun, naturally. I've planted 400 permanent trees and shrubs on these six acres and have a small nursery. It's a 12' x 24' hoophouse that currently is filled to the gills.

Edwin, we need new hobbies :0)
