Dax, please tell us the story behind this cultivar. Also, is it one of your own grafts?

Tunilla! I bought straw for my vegie garden and have no mulch! lol; I never saw the connection. HA!

Barb, This is a gift from the founder. It showed up today so I planted it! Evan Reed (treeguy_ny) and I traded conifers. He also found it. He's a veterinarian! I think that may have something to do with its name. (which I thought humorous then which was about two years ago).

I love the name Dax. I would purchase that plant for the name alone. ha ha. I hope it turns into a nice plant for you. I will be watching throughout the years how that one progresses for you.

Any other first-plantings!?

I had minor surgery and cannot plant for a month. boohoo. Actually I'm a bit of angry about my situation. Had a cyst removed from my inner thigh. I'd like to be digging and transplanting. There are places to fill and I have the plants. Plus the Cornus mas are in full bloom saying "hey you! get to work!" and the Star mag's are blooming at the tops! Damn it I say.

Oh man, so sorry to hear you'll miss the first month of spring planting. At least your cyst free and you'll live to dig another day. If I was your neighbor I would come over and be your planting slave for a day.

Yeah, we'd have a planting party for Dax!
