you can understand the level of needle damage in my garden ..

but regardless.. i am yet to find anything with bud damage ..

i will await hard later FREEZES on active buds for that slaughter ... maybe ma nature got her revenge out of here system.. and we can avoid such ....

How do you check it you have bud damage? Are you pulling the bud off?

I don't get why one wouldn't just scratch the bark on the trunk or a lateral main branch. If its brown all your buds are done.

If its green and even if the buds are damaged the plant can set new buds. Its happened on pine and spruce for me.

The buds feel and look the same on my dead trees as they do on live trees at least as of now. I have to remove them to expose a faint trace of green in the middle. Only on dawn redwood and beech do the buds feel hollow now.

Surprised to here/see so much damage in Adrian, MI with 19 days below zero (at least the station at Siena Heights University in Adrian did). Thats not too far off an average winter here. We got smoke piped with 40 zero/below zero days.

Ken, your quick to bump topics down without actually answering a question. How about riddling my question about the buds? You mentioned in a new post that you checked the buds on your plants and they look viable.
