Full sun for best color in your location. Those in Oklahoma a little afternoon shade beneficial.

If you mix sun/shade color will suffer.

the crux of this is that i have a really ugly Golden Sands in my mini bed.. and i am wondering if this is slow enough for the space ... but i am also worrying that it will have enough sun to color properly .... hence the request for info ...

my tom thumb is a few feet away.. and i have to recall if it colors properly.. in even a bit more shade.. and if it does.. will this ....

Sorry; it was the only photo I had in a pinch; didn't want to keep ya waiting!
They're about 5' tall, excluding the container.

Also, they're one of few bright gold Chamaecyparis obtusa cultivars that can take full sun..

Btw, no photo-editing done to that photo; it was a truly remarkable sunset, indeed!
