Doesn't say about multiple applications. Thought I had done two sprays before according to my extension. I just have to find that email.....

I would have followed their directions to spray twice if the directions said to spray twice. This isn't my first rodeo. How many times have you used it personally TJ?

Spray as needed. It's just hort. oil. If I see critters I'll juice them and wait two weeks, minimum.

the problem is.. the dead ones.. look just like the live ones ..

what you are trying to do.. is catch the new hatchings its escape phase... i cant think of the term.. wiggler.. creeper.. etc ...

while they are soft and tender and can be suffocated by the oil ... given enough time.. they get the imprevious shell.. and then the oil is useless ...

its not really a calender thing.. you need a jewelers loop.. and the ability to ID them.. when they hatch.. and make sure you get them ...otherwise.. its a waste of time and product..

that said.. and due to my inability to concentrate on a daily basis to ID them.. i just go full bore nuclear was.. and nuke the plant with bayer tree and shrub systemic.. which is labeled for scale..

and that use presumes a small plant ... as i am not inclined to spend $50 bucks on curing a $15 plant..

once treated.. according to the label.. scale will never be an issue on that plant again ... well .. until the next time.. lol ..

Ken- nuclear war LOL. I havent done the bayer systemic yet. I know you do , I'm still pondering using it.
But I'll spray again, I have a jewelers loop too. I had a soft scale that is a totally different species on one of my Korean Firs. Got it under control with the horticulture oil.
This one the common pine needle scale,white oval. I'll take a look for the little red crawlers comming out. So are we saying that multiple sparys,even with new shoot growth , is OK to do ? ?
