I'd like to plant a new dawn redwood in my yard, but it is surrounded by black walnut trees. Is new dawn redwood tolerant of black walnut?
Follow-Up Postings:

We have black walnut and dawn redwood growing just a few feet from each other in the backyard. Both are huge trees. So it must be tolerant.

what he said.. but the issues might be adequate sun and water ... planting under huge old tree can make watering a problem is it the yellow one??? being deciduous ... they heave a limited season to process and store energy ... ken
