Over fertilizing

I have a row of emerald green arborvitae that I fertilized with Ultragreen 10 5 4 using package directions. It said it could be used for evergreens trees. I used this last year and this spring on my rhododendrons and azaleas with no problem. My arborvitaes were looking good in spring but I read to fertilize and I used this product. I now believed I have fertilizer burn. The inside leaves have all died, three grocery bags full. I did go to a nursery for help and they told me I had spider mites and so I have sprayed for that. I had mites last summer. After all of this, the plants started to look bad after I fertilized and I think that is the real problem. The question is, what can I do to help the plants now? They are still green on the outside but with some yellowing leave showing. They are visibly thinner and some of the branches are wilting. All of the plants adjacent are fine! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. The arborvitae are a few years old and about 7 or 8 feet tall.
