The only procera I've been able to keep alive more than a year gets afternoon shade (starting about 3:30 pm).

Then again, with my multitude of failures, I might not be the best to give advice...

isnt it surprising.. that in the whole of the conifer world.. apparently you and I own the only two procera anywhere ...

please allow me to broaden the scope of the question:

resin... whats its native region ... and what would you presume is so different than MI .... elevation?? ... etc ... whats the key variable ....

What you have going for you is your pure sand. That will improve upon the 'hardiness'.

Just to follow up on Dax's advice, the only thing it hates more than heat and humidity is to receive full sun when it is experiencing those insults. Provide protection during the worst times of day (>90 *F) and the worst times of year (night time temps *70 F). In some climates it might do better with more shade than sun (for example, only a few hours sun in the morning).

...but you already knew that, right?

I believe yours is on firma understock, which should also help out a bit.
