It looks like half the juniper was shaded by another plant in the nursery and now it's in the sun. It should be OK when the new growth comes out more.

or transplant shock ... or winter damage ... you didnt tell us when they were installed ...

return it if you have a warranty ... otherwise ignore it until fall and THEN cut off bad stuff ...

but do stop.. for now.. cutting pieces off ...

in the great scheme of a trees life.. and conifers are trees... you need to slow down a bit... and be a bit less proactive ... these things react in terms of decades ... not a season or two... they do not grow like annuals and perennials ....

if that is not within your personality ... then be done with it ...

again.. i type this so often ... out back in my 5 acres.. it would be fun to observe ... and in 5 years.. it will look just like the others ...

out the front door... it would drive me crazy ... [the kids say its a short drive] ...

only time will tell... what will come of it.. can you give it time?? ...
