Deer Damage to Dwarf Hinoki Cypress

The deer were finally desperate enough this past winter to chomp on one side of my otherwise healthy dwarf hinoki cypress. So one whole side is bare and the other side completely healthy. I read that trimming back a hinoki cypress will not stimulate growth. So, short of digging the tree up (it's about 6 feet tall) and swiveling it around, do I have any options to encourage that damaged side of the tree to fill in again?
